KKSA Movie Day at The Revue Cinema

A BIG thank you to all of you who came to support Movie Day 2011 on April 16th!  Even though it was a cold and rainy afternoon, there was warmth in the Revue Cinema where 120 members of our new and current community gathered to see the fabulous movie “Flipped”.  We had a great start to the event with Ms. Pfeiffer greeting and welcoming everyone before the event and we even had 2 teachers, Ms. Noble and Ms. Thompson, who took the time to join us.

The donated door prizes were a big hit and it was a nice touch to add fun to the event!

Although this was a community-building and not a fundraising event, we managed to make a profit of around $600 (after theatre rental/copyright expenses) which will go back into the Council budget for program enhancement.

Thanks again for attending, contributing and supporting our last large Council event of this school year which was great success thanks to you!

Special thanks go for the following donations for the door prizes:

  • Future Shop (donation of Sony DVD player and 4 DVDs – total value of $170)
  • Metro (Royal Road & Trehorne Drive) – $25 Gift card (purchase of candy door prize packages)
  • $25 gift card for Starbucks
  • 2 lovely candy baskets
  • microwavable popcorn for door prize packages
  • 2 tickets for “Bokeh” – Performance by the Toronto School of Circus Arts
