Spring Fling Dance & Bake Sale

 

This Friday afternoon, KKSA Parliament is hosting the Spring Fling Dance & Bake Sale. The cost of the dance is $2 which will offset the fee for the DJ, while proceeds from the Bake Sale will support our Canada 150 in Bloom Highway of Heroes Living Tribute. Money raised will go towards planting trees along the Highway of Heroes in honour of Canada’s 150th Anniversary and as a living legacy to Canada’s fallen.

Thank you to families for providing bake sale items for this very important fundraising effort! The baked goods have always been very popular with the students!

GTA Home & Reno Show 2 for 1 Ticket Fundraiser

KKSA is selling GTA Home & Reno Show Tickets to help raise funds for school initiatives!

Tickets are regularly $15.00, however you can buy two tickets for the price of one!!

Tickets can be picked up in the school office. There are a very limited number of tickets so get yours early before they are all gone!

KKSA SILENT AUCTION IS ONLINE!!

Join us for another exciting Silent Auction event as part of KKSA’s Winter Showcase this Thursday, Jan 12th, 2017 at John English School.  (95 Mimico Ave.)

As you may be aware, KKSA assumes a great expense in hosting our productions off site. We also do not feel that paying a fee to watch your child perform aligns with our desire to have all families participate in our semi-annual performances. Proceeds from the Silent Auction will help to offset the costs of hosting an off-site production. Additional money will also go towards subsidizing the cost of student excursions.

Our Silent Auction offers a wide variety of items assuring something to please everyone. Hotel room downtown Toronto? Check! Tickets to see The Boston Symphony? Check! Limited Edition Art (valued at $700), Check!

Priceless student artwork, movie tickets, Executive Chef catered meal for 4? Check!

Our auction is online now until 11pm on January 11th, after which time the leading bid will carry over to our LIVE Silent Auction prior to the start of the Term One Showcase at John English School.

LIVE Silent Auction will close at 6:30pm on Jan 12th – Join us early to make your bids!

All silent auction winners will be announced during the showcase, and asked to make payments at the end of our event, at which time auction items will be dispersed.

We are able to accept CASH or PERSONAL CHEQUES as method of payment.

If you are bidding on any items please bring your cheque books/cash to the event!!

As we mentioned in our communication about the Direct Donation Campaign, QSP  is not being run as a  fundraising initiative this year but we encourage you to go through the QSP website and use the KKSA school code if you plan to RENEW existing subscriptions or if you plan to GIVE SUBSCRIPTIONS AS GIFTS this coming holiday season.

Last year we used QSP money to bring in a special performer to support teacher instruction in Dance.  Every little bit helps and if you are already subscribing to, or want to subscribe to magazines, this is a great opportunity to get what you want AND help out the school at the same time!

School Advisory Council Fundraising Meeting

Hello KKSA Families,

There will be a special meeting about fundraising initiatives for the next year and all parents are invited.

It is important to decide NOW what fundraisers we will be holding for the next school year as many events require months of pre-planning.  We are looking for ideas/feedback on what fundraisers you have enjoyed and which ones you have not.

The meeting will be held on:

Friday May 15th at 8:35am in the school (staff room).

Please RSVP to anna.stephens@rogers.com so we can make sure to have a room large enough to hold everyone.  We understand some of you will be unable to attend so please feel free to email me personally with your ideas so I can share them at the meeting

QSP – Final Extension

Dear KKSA Parents,

We are so close to our goal! We only have $2,200 to go so we are extending our QSP campaign one last time to get us to $24,000. We have one more weekend to sell and will wrap up the campaign on Monday.

A huge THANK YOU to all of you who have supported our QSP campaign this year. The good news for those of you who are planning to buy a magazine, photo book, labels or any number of other products and just haven’t had a chance to get around to it, you have the weekend to place your orders!

Quiznos Lunches

Starting in January, we are trying something new with Quiznos.  All our Quiznos Order Forms will be available on-line to download, print, fill out and return to school.  They will also be sent out via the KKSA Listserve.  We will no longer be distributing them in class.  If you want to order a Quiznos lunch, either the Parent Council Quiznos on the 4th Wed of the month, or the Grade 8 Grad Quiznos on the 2nd Friday of the month, you can find the forms on the Parent Council website or in the attachments below.

Please make sure you are filling out the right form, either the 4th Wed or the 2nd Friday, so we avoid confusion on Quiznos lunch day.

Chapters Fundraising Event – Dec.5/12

Chapters Queensway (located at 1950 The Queensway across from Sherway Gardens) and the KKSA Parent Council invite you to get a head start on your holiday shopping while supporting the KKSA school community.

With every purchase made at Chapters Queensway on December 5th from 6:00pm – 9:00pm, the school will earn a percentage that will be donated directly back to the school.

You can choose from a wide selection of books, toys, candles, chocolates, CDs, DVDs, magazines, decorating ideas and much more!
