Grade 8 Grad Trip Information Night

The Grade 8 Graduation Trip is quickly approaching. A great deal of work has been done in preparation for the Ottawa-Montreal Adventure.  The Grade 8 Team would like to invite all Grade 8 parents/guardians to join them on Wednesday, June 14th at 5:30 pm in the KKSA gymnasium.

In preparation for the trip, we would like to involve parents in the following:

• Finalized itinerary of events
• Packing list
• Spending money
• Expectations regarding student behavior
• Policy on personal devices
• Q & A

It is essential that each student has a parent/guardian present at this important information night. Please RSVP to your child’s homeroom teacher by Tuesday, June 13th.

CYBER SAVVY-PARENT PRESENTATION

Come out and learn more about your child’s online activities. Get informed about social media tools that your child is using including:

• Instagram
• Pinterest
• Snapchat
• Facebook
• Tumblr

Allison Dellandrea from KINSA (Kids Internet Safety Alliance), will be joining us for a cyber security talk from 6 to 6:45 PM this coming Monday, January 11, 2016 at the school. She will be focusing on monitoring online applications that your child may be using on their various devices (phones, tablets, or computers). A question period will follow the presentation. We are grateful to Allison for sharing her time and expertise with us. Light refreshments will be served.

The Parent Council meeting will follow the presentation.  You are welcome to stay on and join us.
